West Allis bar owners unite to recall smoking ban supporters

Helped out by the Citizens for Responsible Government West Allis bar owners have launched a recall exploratory committee to consider recalling state Sen. Jim Sullivan for supporting the statewide smoking ban.

Taken from an article on WISN.com
As for Sullivan, he said all the recall talk is premature and he feels it is disrespectful.

"I think that what that's really about doing is trying to circumvent the electoral process and it's fundamental disrespect for the system, and it makes it very difficult to get people who are willing to lead and be involved in our local community at all levels of public service," Sullivan said.

The group is collecting signatures and estimate that they will need 15,000 to move forward. We will keep you posted on what you can do to help or where you can find a petition to sign.

Scotty's

6500 Greenfield Ave
West Allis, WI 53214

Beer on Tap:
MGD

Amenities:
(2) dart boards,  Internet Jukebox, Pinball Machine, Pool Table

Stallis Pub Crawler Rating: 2.9/5

Kevin's Impressions:
This bar could be something really special - instead it feels like you are drinking in someone half finished rec room. Its spacious ... but the entire back half of the bar is lit up with the light above the pool table and the warm glow of a Ripley's Belive it or Not pinball machine. There is 17 tap handles behind the bar ... but only one of them works. We gave this bar a few visits before we reviewed it. Every time we were in there we were assured that the remodeling would be finished next month. To Scotty's credit an additional piece of drywall would be up with each subsequent visit. Cute bartenders,  fantastic service are a kick ass pinball game are the only things propping this score above a 2. Visit them in a year or three, the bar might actually be completed by then.

Stallis Pub Crawler Rating: 3.2/5

Kevin's Impressions:
Clean, nicely lit, and has some of the hottest bartenders we have run across. A little light on the entertainment side but a great tap selection and $2.25 Leinenkugel pints definitely make up for it.

The sway of alcohol over mankind is unquestionably due to its power to stimulate the mystical faculties of human nature, usually crushed to earth by the cold facts and dry criticisms of the sober hour. Sobriety diminishes, discriminates, and says no; drunkenness expands, unites, and says yes.
